Industrial License

This includes obtaining an industrial license to implement an industrial project, adding new industrial activity to the industrial license, adding a branch with an industrial activity, conducting an expansion of a plant, or making any transactions related to an industrial license.

The Regulatory Law : Law No. (81) of the year 2006 with respect to approving the Common Industrial Law of the GCC and the Ministerial Resolution No. (11) of the year 2009, with respect to promulgating the Implementing Regulation of the Common Industrial Law of the GCC

If you wish to obtain an industrial license to establish an industrial project, add an industrial activity to the industrial license, or add a branch with an industrial activity, please follow the following procedures.

Procedure:

  1.  The Applicant applies online via www.sijilat.bh to obtain an industrial license to establish a new industrial project, to add a new branch, or to add new activities to the industrial license.

  2. The Industrial Development Directorate evaluates the application through the SIJILAT system, issuing the initial approval within a maximum of five working days from the date of application, assuming all the required details are provided.​

  3. The applicant shall determine the industrial project's location through the system, in order to obtain the approval of the relevant authorities (Municipalities Affairs, the Supreme Council for the Environment, the Ministry of Health/Public Health Directorate, and any other authorities if necessary).

  4. The directorate will issue an industrial license in accordance with the unified GCC form. This license entitles an owner to start implementing their project.

 

Amendment in Industrial license:

This includes doing amendments to an existing industrial license such as change in the production capacity or change in the products.

If the industrial license holder wishes to amend some information in the industrial license, such as changing the production capacity or products, please follow the following procedures.


Procedure:

  1. Th​e Applicant applies online through the link (www.industry.bh​​) to either increase the production capacity of the factory or to add a new product to the same licensed activity.
  2. The industrial Development Directorate evaluates the application through the system to issue the initial approval​ within a maximum of 5 working days from the date of application, with all required details.
  3. The applicant must get the required approvals through the electronic system from the related authorities, such as Supreme Council for Environment.
  4. The Directorate will issue an industrial license in accordance to the unified GCC form, after getting the approval of the Supreme Council for Environment through the system with the new amendment.​ 

 

Support services to the Industrial license

Free Sale Certificate

 This includes applying a request for Free Sale Certificate which states that the manufactured products according to the industrial license are sold and traded freely in the local markets in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

If the industrial license holder wishes to obtain a free sale certificate, please follow the following steps.

  1. The Applicant applies for Free Sale Certificate through the Industrial Services System under the “industrial license" tab through the link (www.industry.bh ).
  2.  The Industrial Development Directorate evaluates the application and issue the Certificate if all the required information is provided and meets the requirements.
  3. The Applicant should collect the Free Sale Certificate from Industrial Development Directorate and it is valid for two years.
     

Support services to the Industrial license

Natural Gas Request

This includes applying a request to forward the Natural Gas application to the Ministry of Oil and Environment.

1. The Applicant applies to forward the Natural Gas application to the Ministry of Oil and Environment, through the Industrial Services System under  “industrial license" tab through the link (www.industry.bh ).
2. The Applicant shall download the Natural Gas Form, fill and upload it in the application.
3. The Industrial Development Directorate evaluates the request and approves to forward it to the Ministry of Oil and Environment to obtain the approval, if all the required information is provided and meets the requirements.

Extension of Expected Production Date

Includes applications for Extension of Expected Production Date under the Industrial License menu required to be submitted in case your project is not ready for production as per the date you specified in the previous Pre-Approval stage.

Procedure:

  1. Log-in to “Industry System” www.industry.bh​.
  2. Choose Industrial License menu.
  3. Choose Extension of Expected Production Date.
  4. Search and select the required branch using CR No. or IL No. then click Save General Information.
  5. Change Expected Production Date for all products then click Save Activity Information and then click Save and Continue.
  6. Upload Supporting Documents as evidence to support the Justifications for Extension required to be entered in the next page then click Save and Continue.
  7. Enter the Justifications for Extension in the designated field in Comments section then click Submit.

Your application will be studied and responded to basedon the justifications for extension and supporting documents attached as evidence to validate the justifications provided, such as documents issued by official bodies, Machine Purchase Orders agreed upon with suppliers, contracts with landlord or suppliers or other documents as per the nature of the justifications you provide.
