Inspection Services

The Inspection Directorate is responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring the oversight activities related to commercial and industrial activities, to ensure their compliance with the applicable laws and regulations. The directorate also receives and processes related complaints and notifications. To achieve this, the directorate works on:

  1. Prepare and implement an annual plan for industrial & commercial inspection, set and develop the administrative and supervisory processes, policies, and procedures necessary for the inspection directorate.
  2. Implement field and electronic periodic inspections of the various entities that are being regulated and supervised by the Ministry, in coordination with the relevant administrative units.
  3. Monitor all markets to detect commercial concealments and illegal commercial practices and take necessary legal and administrative actions for violations detected in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. 
  4. Monitor the precious metal artifacts, pearls, and precious gemstone trades, and supervise and control laboratories licensed to examine them, in coordination with the concerned directorates and entities. 
  5. Collaborate, coordinate, exchange of information with other government inspection agencies to enhance strengthen supervisory work.
  6. Refer inspection-related cases to relevant entities and provide testimonies regarding them.
  7. Receive complaints and observations related to commercial and industrial practices and take the necessary actions, accordingly, and receive & response to inquiries.
  8. Receive requests for violations removal through the automated system and take necessary actions.
  9. Prepare studies and reports to develop the directorate’s automated systems and to evaluate the inspection processes to keep pace with developments in the industrial and commercial sectors.
  10. Participation in proposing and developing legislation, laws and regulations related to monitor and inspection operations in the industrial and commercial sector, in coordination with the relevant entities.
  11. Spread the necessary awareness among consumers and traders to clarify the provisions of relevant laws and regulations, ensure compliance, and prevent violation.
