The Inspection Directorate is responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring the oversight activities related to commercial and industrial activities, to ensure their compliance with the applicable laws and regulations. The directorate also receives and processes related complaints and notifications. To achieve this, the directorate works on:
- Preparing and executing the annual plans for industrial and commercial inspections to ensure that various establishments comply with the relevant laws, ministerial decisions, regulations, and requirements, in close cooperation with the concerned directorates.
- Monitoring all markets and points of sale in the Kingdom of Bahrain and addressing illegal business to foster sustainable economic growth.
- Conducting field and electronic inspection operations in coordination with the concerned directorates.
- Receiving complaints from consumers, departments, or relevant government entities, related to commercial and industrial practices, and taking the appropriate actions accordingly.
- Overseeing and following up on the process of referring violations to the Public Prosecution and relevant authorities and implementing judicial rulings.
- Combating commercial concealment by taking legal action against violators.
- Collaborating, coordinating, and exchanging information with other governmental inspection bodies, and organizing and participating in joint inspection campaigns to enhance regulatory compliance in Kingdom of Bahrain.
- Developing implementation and follow-up plans for the actions related to the inspection results and preparing reports on the directorate’s operations and performance.
- Conducting studies, evaluating the efficiency of inspection systems, and developing them, and incorporating best practices to enhance performance, and proposing recommendations to improve the relevant legislation.
- Working to overcome the obstacles and challenges facing inspection operations at the level of the ministry's directorates and coordinating and integrating with the relevant government entities.
- Providing advice and guidance to investors to engage in commercial and industrial activities in accordance with the adopted laws and regulations.
- Raising awareness about the laws and provisions related to the directorate’s activities, aimed at ensuring consumer rights and fair-trade practices.
