H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro Minister of Industry and Commerce affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to raise levels of cooperation and exchange experiences with Japan, especially in the economic field.
This came during a meeting with Mr. Hiroaki Kitano, Chief Technology Officer of SONY, in the presence of the Minister of Sustainable Development Noor bint Ali Al-Khulaif, and a number of officials from both sides, on the sidelines of the official visit of the high-level economic delegation to Tokyo.
The Minister praised Sony's contributions to the development of many devices and fields that directly affect human lives, as a prominent international brand of technical development, stressing Bahrain's keenness to enhance cooperation and joint work with Sony and other experienced Japanese companies.
H.E. Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro stressed the strong friendly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Japan, noting the great role played by active diplomacy in consolidating cooperation and pushing it towards developing existing economic relations.
This came during a meeting with a number of officials of Topy Industries Ltd., in the presence of the Minister of Sustainable Development Noor bint Ali Al-Khulaif and a number of officials from both sides in Tokyo, on the sidelines of the official visit of the economic delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain to Japan.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the capabilities and facilities offered by the Government of Bahrain to attract more international projects to the Kingdom, and listened to a detailed explanation of the work steps carried out by Topy Industries, which specializes in steel, specifically manufacturing car tires.
On the sidelines of the official visit of the Kingdom of Bahrain's economic delegation to Japan, H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, H.E. Nishimura Yasutoshi, in the presence of a number of senior officials from both sides.
His Excellency hailed the strong economic relations between Bahrain and Japan, affirming Bahrain's commitment to enhancing international economic relations, and praising in this regard the efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to raise the rates of trade exchange between and expand investments.
The minister also noted the great role played by active diplomacy in strengthening cooperation, coordination and joint work between the two countries.

This came during His Excellency's visit to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), with the presence of Minister of Sustainable Development Noor bint Ali Al-Khulaif, within the framework of the official visit of Bahrain's economic delegation to Japan.
During the visit, the Minister and the accompanying delegation listened to a detailed explanation of the mechanisms of work of the agency, as one of the most important international agencies working in the field of space exploration, development of space technologies, satellite launches, moon exploration, asteroids, monitoring and protecting earth climate, and many other tasks concerned with space science.
H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, hailed the growth of investment projects and international factories based in Bahrain, pointing out that the facilities and advantages provided by the government to ensure their smooth work have contributed to attracting major international projects and settling them in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
This came during the visit of H.E. Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro to the Universal Rollings Rebar Factory in Salman Industrial City, where His Excellency was greeted by Chairman and CEO of the Factory Mr. Maher Abu-Ghazaleh and a number of senior officials. The minister also toured the factory and listened to an explanation of all stages of manufacturing and production.
UNIROL is one of the largest steel factories in the Kingdom of Bahrain, it is located in Salman Industrial city, and operates according to the highest local and international environmentally friendly quality standards.
H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, received Bahrain Intellectual Property Society Chairperson Asma Abdulaziz Al Najdi, accompanied by a number of Board members, in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce Ms. Eman Al Doseri.
The Minister congratulated Al Najdi on the occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day, which falls annually on April 26, commending the role and efforts of the Society in promoting the importance of intellectual property, patents and innovations and contributing to embracing Bahraini innovation. Wishing them continued progress and success.
For her part, the Chairperson of Bahrain Intellectual Property Society hailed the distinguished efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in supporting and protecting trademarks, patents and electronic industrial property control.

The Minister praised the deep bilateral relations between Bahrain and Egypt, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation, and expressing his pride in their successful achievements.
H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, chaired the sixteenth meeting of the SMEs Development Council, which was held via video conference with the participation of the Council members.
The Minister praised the tangible cooperation between the members, stressing that the coming stages require more solidarity to overcome challenges and successfully complete initiatives within the specified timetable to benefit the SMEs sector and contribute to its development and prosperity.
The meeting included a presentation by Ms. Shaikha Al-Fadhel, Director of the SMEs Development Directorate, on the national performance indicators of the SMEs Development Council, in addition to reviewing the values of performance indicators of the completed initiatives and their target percentages in the next stage.
Developments of the SME database project were also reviewed, which aims to collect data on growth of enterprises, as the number of institutions that achieved growth from March 2022 to March 2023 reached 4,301 institutions and companies, with a majority of micro-enterprises. Requirements for the second phase of the project were also outlined to ensure that the operational conditions of these institutions are followed up at a deeper level by linking the information available to members to form an integrated database to rely upon for the improvement of this sector's performance.
Moreover, in a step aimed at achieving the best results and outputs for the years 2022-2026, the team consisting of representatives of concerned authorities evaluated all 43 initiatives and programs and identified challenges to ensure the desired workflow.
