Upon Execution Prosecution decision, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce destroyed confiscated expired foodstuffs in a case of selling adulterated goods.

On this regard, Assistant Undersecretary for Control and Resources, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Ashraf, stated that a complaint was received on a company selling foodstuffs after altering their expiration dates, and after verifying and investigating the complaint, the violation was monitored, and 3704 boxes of expired dates and date molasses were seized in 5 different locations.

Al-Ashraf added that the case was raised to Public Prosecution, where judicial rulings were issued against the violator to confiscate and destroy seized materials. The decision was implemented accordingly in coordination with specialists at the Askar landfill for waste management, at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.​

The Undersecretary stressed that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce does not tolerate commercial fraud that affects people's security and health.
