Foreign Trade and Industrial Property Services

  1. ​​Implement the laws and regulation of Industrial Property.
  2. Suggest the development of the legislation to match the new development in the field of Industrial Property in compliance with the International organizations requirements.
  3. Implements the commitments stated in the international agreements joined by Kingdom of Bahrain, that are related to Industrial Property in specific.
  4. Receive and examine requests for registration of all Industrial Property branches.
  5. Examine all applications formality and objectivity before publication.
  6. Prepare the application for registration which passes the examination for publication in the official gazette or Industrial property publication or any other kind of publication.
  7. Study oppositions received against any branch of Industrial Property registration within the legal periods.
  8. Issues registration certificates for all kind of Industrial Property.
  9. Follow up the changes and renewals related to all Industrial Property, and issues all the notifications with regards to this function.
  10. Developing the Laws of Industrial Property according to commitments of International and International agreements and conventions in this regards.
  11. Attends the local and international meetings, conferences, symposiums and workshops of Intellectual Property, and representing the Kingdom of Bahrain in other international occasions in regards.
  12. Co-ordinate with the GCC Patents Office, and contributes in developing it.
  13. Study the international agreements and its amendments in the field of Intellectual Property in general and Industrial Property in specific.
  14. Continues development of the IT systems which corresponds to the latest developments in this regard.​
  15. ​Developing trade relations between Bahrain and the international trade community. Thorough understanding of local, regional and international trade legislation. The Directorate assists with advice and liase with various bodies to explore, the Directorate helps in building an environment of opportunities for both Bahraini companies, seeking access to world markets, and foreign companies interested in doing business in Bahrain.​​​
  16. Follows-up on matters related to foreign trade, especially those related to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) as well as other regional and international trade organizations. It also follows-up various bilateral trade relations and trade-related issues of the GCC, and Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.​
