The Ministry of Industry and Commerce launched several initiatives for the back-to-school season to support citizens and residents by ensuring quality products at fair prices.
The Consumer Protection Directorate introduced the “Consumer’s Friend” initiative, inviting retailers to offer discounts on school-related goods such as stationery, uniforms, electronics, furniture, food items, and more. The program runs until November 2025.
The Ministry also announced a wide inspection plan to monitor product quality, price fairness, and availability, ensuring diverse options for families.
The Ministry emphasized that the back-to-school season is an opportunity to strengthen public–private partnerships, highlighting the role of Bahraini families and retailers in making the season easier and more promising for students.
H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Bakhtiyor Saidov, during his official visit to Bahrain. The two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations, especially in trade and industry, and explored investment opportunities in promising sectors.
Both ministers emphasized the importance of continued cooperation, exchange of visits, and coordination on issues of mutual interest. Minister Saidov praised the growing ties between the two countries and expressed Uzbekistan’s interest in deeper cooperation, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
HE Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met with HE Merna Khawly, Chargé d’Affaires of the Lebanese Embassy in Bahrain.
His Excellent praised the strong ties between Bahrain and Lebanon and commended Khawly’s efforts in enhancing economic and trade relations. He wished her success in her future roles.

H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, visited Al-Taawon Foodstuff Factory in Salman Industrial City as part of efforts to support national industrial projects and boost production and exports. He reviewed the factory’s operations, which plays a key role in food manufacturing and packaging.
The Minister praised the factory’s contribution to food security and its support of Bahraini exports, particularly to Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries. He noted that the visit aligns with the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022–2026), which aims to support local industry and attract investment, helping grow the national economy.
The factory opened in 2023 and covers about 11,961 square meters.
His Excellency Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, emphasized the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to boost the growth of the industrial sector in line with the Industrial Strategy (2022–2026). He highlighted the Ministry’s work to develop a supportive legislative and technical environment to attract quality industrial investments.
This came during his visit to Yokogawa Middle East & Africa, a subsidiary of Japan’s Yokogawa Electric Corporation, and Mueller Middle East, both located in the Bahrain International Investment Park. The visit aimed to review operations, production stages, and future expansion plans, reflecting the sector’s growth and its contribution to the national economy.
The Minister praised the park’s role in attracting value-added projects and highlighted the strong capabilities of national industries, especially in advanced technologies and skilled manpower. He noted that the food and metal industries are key promising sectors that support food security and economic diversification.
He also commended the efforts of factory management and confirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing all necessary support and incentives to strengthen Bahrain’s position as a strategic industrial and commercial hub in the region.
Mueller Middle East is the region’s first copper tube manufacturer, while Yokogawa provides advanced solutions for various industries, including energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food.
The Kingdom of Bahrain has secured its first-ever chairmanship at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with the election of Ms. Maryam Abdulaziz AlDoseri, Commercial Attaché at the Permanent Mission in Geneva, as Chair of the Paris Union Assembly.
The Paris Union Assembly is the governing body of WIPO’s oldest treaty, the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property (1883), which shapes global standards on patents, trademarks, and industrial designs.
This historic milestone positions Bahrain at the forefront of international intellectual property policymaking and reflects growing recognition of its leadership on the multilateral stage. It also reaffirms the Kingdom’s commitment to innovation, IP protection, and effective global cooperation.
His Excellency Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, received Her Excellency Anne Jalando-On Louis, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Bahrain.
The Minister welcomed the Ambassador and praised the strong ties between Bahrain and the Philippines, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening industrial and commercial cooperation.
He also thanked the Ambassador for her efforts in enhancing bilateral relations and wished her success in her future endeavors.

The Minister praised the strong ties between Bahrain and Korea, highlighting ongoing progress in industry, trade, and investment. He stressed the importance of further strengthening cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
