The Kingdom of Bahrain has secured its first-ever chairmanship at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with the election of Ms. Maryam Abdulaziz AlDoseri, Commercial Attaché at the Permanent Mission in Geneva, as Chair of the Paris Union Assembly.
The Paris Union Assembly is the governing body of WIPO’s oldest treaty, the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property (1883), which shapes global standards on patents, trademarks, and industrial designs.
This historic milestone positions Bahrain at the forefront of international intellectual property policymaking and reflects growing recognition of its leadership on the multilateral stage. It also reaffirms the Kingdom’s commitment to innovation, IP protection, and effective global cooperation.
