On the sidelines of the official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, and Chairman of Gulf Air Board Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani met Acting President of Thai International Airlines Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo.
During the meeting, they discussed cooperation opportunities and latest developments between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Thailand and ways to benefit from Thai expertise in aviation.

​The Undersecretary of Commerce Affairs Eng. Nader Khalil Al Moayyed met Omani delegation from Public Establishment for Industrial Estates headed by the Director of Communication & Investor Service Centre Mr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Hinai, in presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Registration and Companies Mr. Ali Maki and Director of Companies Control Mr. Ali Marhoon.

During the meeting, the Undersecretary welcomed the delegation visiting the Kingdom to learn about Bahrain’s experience in the field of service investors through the Bahrain Investors Center, pointing out the close relations between the Bahrain and Oman and their continued cooperation in all fields.
In this context, the Undersecretary explained the delegation on "Sijilat" system, which is an advanced electronic system in registrating and licensing commercial facilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain with full linkage with all electronic systems of the relevant government bodies. He also reviewed the facilities provided by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism to investors from inside and outside Bahrain. As well as of “Sijili” System, which allows citizens to practice business legally without requiring a shop address.
The Undersecretary of Commerce Affairs confirmed that this system contributed to improve investment environment in the Kingdom of Bahrain, raise investment rates and attract many foreign investments to Bahrain.​

Within the framework of the official visit by the economic Bahraini delegation headed by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism to the Kingdom of Thailand, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani visited the Halal Science Center at Chulalongkorn University.
During the visit, the minister was briefed on the work of the center, which analyzes food that are not compatible with the law of Islam and provides information and training to the public and to the food service industry related to the preparation of food in accordance with Islamic law.
The visit also attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Associate Professor Dr. Winai Dahlan, Director of Halal Science Center and Professor Bundhit Eua arporn, President of Chulalongkorn University, Thai Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Mr. Thanis Na Songkhla, and the economic delegation​

On the sidelines of the official visit by an economic delegation headed by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani to the Kingdom of Thailand, Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Trade Ms. Eman A. Al-Doseri and the Bahraini economic delegation visited CPF Food and Beverage Company.
CPF is one of the world’s leading company, which operates in 16 countries, exports products from Thailand to over 30 countries. The Company operates in both the livestock and aquaculture (shrimp and fish) businesses.​

In the framework of the official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand, a preparatory was held on 3rd July 2018 for the JSC meeting between Thailand and Bahrain.
The meeting co-chaired by the Director General of the Department of Trade Negotiations of the Ministry of Commerce of the Kingdom of Thailand Mrs. Auramon Supthaweethum and Assistant Undersecretary of Foreign Trade Ms. Eman Al Doseri.
During the meeting, both sides confirmed that Thailand and Bahrain have enjoyed a strong diplomatic relationship since 1977. They also confirmed that signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Food Security, Trade and Investment in Agricultural Products and Commodities in Particular Halal Food is a crucial step to boost trade and economic relations, especially in the field of halal products.​

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Tourism launched “Private Notary” services for commercial companies and individuals institutions registered with the Ministry.
The service was launched in coordination with the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments through “Sijilat” system.
The ministry pointed out that the service will be available during and after the official working hours, which will allow receiving a greater number of transactions. This will contribute to develop the advantages of investment environment and the launch of various commercial and economic activities within the objectives of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
The service also provides the applicant to choose one of the documentation offices available in the system and send the draft contract of incorporation approved by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism to the office that was selected previously.
In this context, the ministry noted that investors must agree in advance with the documentation office on the value of fees before selecting in the system.​

The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani hosted a group of small and medium enterprises owners in the  1st SMEs periodic meeting with to discuss the most important relevant topics. The meeting was held at Ministry’s premises at Bahrain Harbour Gate.

During the meeting, a number of issues and problems were raised by the owners of SMEs, expressing their appreciation for the initiative of the Minister, which may be excellent in communicating with the concerned to highlight obstacles and updates.

Their problems were varies between procedures of the competent authorities that impede their work and cause the failure of their institutions, in addition to the labor permits, and the need to find a clear mechanism to coordinate between all government agencies to ensure the smooth work of small and medium enterprises. As well as loans, fear of bankruptcy and other problems related to this sector.

For his part, the Minister welcomed all the views, observations and complaints and promised that the ministry will work with the concerned authorities to solve them. He stressed that Ministry’s doors are open to all, in addition to other means of communication that the Ministry follow up and respond to them as quickly as possible. The minister stressed the seriousness of the government headed by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister in developing SMEs sector as it considered the main pillar of the national economy.

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and under the directives of HRH the Crown Prince, in cooperation and coordination with other concerned bodies such as EDB, Tamkeen, BDB, BCCI has undertaken many initiatives and steps that some have been completed and some are still in progress. These include the launch of SMEs Development Board and adopting a strategy for this board. And develop three key indicators to measure the growth of the sector; increase Bahraini labor, Increase the share of SMEs in exports and increase their contribution to GDP. Among the initiatives that have been accomplished are business incubators and accelerators, allocate 20% of the value of government procurements to SMEs. It is hoped that the Export Development Center will be launched later this year, and develop special database for SMEs and bankruptcy law.

The Minister stressed that Ministry’s doors are open the public and business owners to achieve the public interest of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

It should be noted that holding a periodic meeting with SMEs would allow to hear views and identify challenges facing their business. The ministry is keen to involve the private sector in its future vision and initiatives.

The minister of Industry, Commerce & Tourism Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani received UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Shaikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The meeting was attended by Undersecretary of Commerce Affairs Mr. Nader Al Moayyed, Undersecretary of Industry Affairs Mr. Osama Mohammed Al Orrayedh and BETA CEO Shaikh Khalid bin Hamood Al Khalifa.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the historic relations between the two countries and the efforts of the leadership and the governments of the two countries to enhance and develop cooperation in all fields especially in the economic aspect.
