His Excellency Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, emphasized the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to boost the growth of the industrial sector in line with the Industrial Strategy (2022–2026). This came during his visit to Yokogawa Middle East & Africa, a subsidiary of Japan’s Yokogawa Electric Corporation, and Mueller Middle East, both located in the Bahrain International Investment Park. The visit aimed to review operations, production stages, and future expansion plans, reflecting the sector’s growth and its contribution to the national economy.
The Minister praised the park’s role in attracting value-added projects and highlighted the strong capabilities of national industries, especially in advanced technologies and skilled manpower. He noted that the food and metal industries are key promising sectors that support food security and economic diversification.
He also commended the efforts of factory management and confirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing all necessary support and incentives to strengthen Bahrain’s position as a strategic industrial and commercial hub in the region.
Mueller Middle East is the region’s first copper tube manufacturer, while Yokogawa provides advanced solutions for various industries, including energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food.
The Kingdom of Bahrain has secured its first-ever chairmanship at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with the election of Ms. Maryam Abdulaziz AlDoseri, Commercial Attaché at the Permanent Mission in Geneva, as Chair of the Paris Union Assembly.
The Paris Union Assembly is the governing body of WIPO’s oldest treaty, the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property (1883), which shapes global standards on patents, trademarks, and industrial designs.
This historic milestone positions Bahrain at the forefront of international intellectual property policymaking and reflects growing recognition of its leadership on the multilateral stage. It also reaffirms the Kingdom’s commitment to innovation, IP protection, and effective global cooperation.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has successfully passed the external audit for the ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Management System certification for the fourth consecutive year. This achievement reflects the Ministry’s commitment to international standards and its readiness to ensure uninterrupted, efficient services under all conditions.
H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met with Mr. Rabih Tayfour, Regional Director and Business Development Consultant at RICI Company Ltd., and Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Ashraaf, Chairman of the Ministry’s Governance Committee, to receive the renewed certificate.
The Minister emphasized that maintaining this certification demonstrates the Ministry’s dedication to developing its systems, improving performance, and adopting proactive global standards. He thanked the employees for their continuous efforts, highlighting that this success is the result of teamwork and systematic planning.
The meeting also discussed future cooperation with specialized consultancy firms to adopt more ISO standards, improve management systems, and enhance service quality according to best international practices.
The Ministry is one of the first government bodies to earn this certification and continues to implement the ISO 9001:2015 Total Quality Management System, which supports its commitment to continuous improvement, better governance, and delivering high-quality services.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth Affairs, announced the launch of the pioneering national initiative “Consumer Protection Ambassadors.” targeting ambitious Bahraini youth aged 24 to 30, encouraging them to actively participate in supporting community awareness efforts in the field of consumer rights protection. The program will run from July to August 2025 for two months.
In this regard, H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, affirmed that the initiative stems from the Ministry’s belief in the importance of involving youth in building the future. It also aims to enable participants to gain practical and field skills in consumer protection by engaging in workshops and awareness campaigns in cooperation with the specialized teams in the Ministry’s Consumer Protection Directorate.
H.E. the Minister further emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to provide a comprehensive training environment that includes theoretical training programs on fundamental consumer protection concepts and relevant regulations and laws, as well as practical training through real participation in receiving consumer complaints and ensuring effective communication with consumers. He confirmed that what distinguishes this pioneering national youth program—first of its kind in the Gulf and Arab region—is the awarding of the title “Consumer Protection Ambassador” to participants who successfully complete the program, along with experience certificates in the field of consumer protection and training opportunities, in addition to incentive financial rewards for outstanding participants provided by the official entities sponsoring the initiative.
For her part, H.E. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, affirmed that this national youth initiative in the field of consumer protection represents an advanced model of integration between the Kingdom’s institutions in building an aware and qualified generation of youth. She praised the cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in launching this exceptional program, which is considered the first of its kind in the Gulf region and the Arab world.
H.E. the Minister of Youth Affairs affirmed that this initiative contributes to empowering youth to play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of conscious and responsible consumption, in line with the goals of the National Youth Empowerment Strategy.
She pointed out that what distinguishes this initiative is its combination of theoretical and practical training. She stressed that awarding the title “Consumer Protection Ambassador” forms an important moral and professional incentive that instills discipline among youth and enhances their appreciation of their roles in building society.
She also affirmed that the Ministry of Youth Affairs is keen to support national initiatives that reflect a spirit of innovation in preparing and qualifying youth, expressing her confidence in the ability of Bahraini youth to excel in all fields.
